Wedding Venues in Taormina

Taormina is a town with a rich and fascinating history. Founded by the Greeks in 358 B.C. and originally named Tauromenion, Taormina's architecture and landmarks bear the marks of its diverse past.

The Greeks established the Agora, which is now a symbol of the city, and built the Teatro Antico, a theater transformed into an amphitheater by the Romans. This amphitheater, set against the backdrop of Mount Etna and the Ionian Sea, is not only an iconic symbol of Taormina but also serves as a versatile venue for various events, including plays, ballets, and concerts (don't tell anyone, but you can actually get married there too!).

1. What you should consider when planning a Wedding in Taormina Sicily, Italy

Key information: General info about Wedding in Taormina, Luxury Wedding Venues, Beach Wedding in Taormina, cost of wedding in Taormina

Planning your dream wedding in Taormina? Here's a sprinkle of Sicilian wisdom to ensure your special day is as perfect as the setting:

  • Distance from the Airport: Taormina's is tucked away on Sicily's eastern coast, a 45 minutes journey from Catania's airport. Factor in travel time for you and your guests to avoid any last-minute rushes. Consider staying a few days around the area to familiarise with the place!

  • Higher Cost of Weddings: Taormina's exquisite venues and breathtaking views come with a price tag. Be prepared for a more opulent budget, as this Sicilian jewel caters to those who love a touch of luxury.

  • Chic Style Galore: If your wedding Pinterest board is filled with luxe decorations and chic styles, Taormina is your runway. This town doesn't just embrace extravagance; it wears it like a crown.

  • Consider out of season wedding: To dodge crowds and surging prices, think about tying the knot in the lower season. Taormina is stunning year-round, and a spring or autumn wedding can offer the same picturesque settings without the summer's premium costs (plus imagine trying to take a picture in the square amongst thousands of tourists. No, thanks).

  • Luxury Villa Wedding Venues: Consider celebrating your love in a beautiful villa overlooking the sea. Taormina boasts villas with views that make every moment picture-perfect. We'll share some later in this article.

  • Beach Wedding Bliss: For those dreaming of sandy toes and sunset vows, Taormina's beach venues offer an unforgettable backdrop. Yes, you guessed, we'll share the best beach wedding Venues in Taormina too!

  • How much does it cost to get married in Taormina? As we wrap up, we'll touch upon a crucial aspect of wedding planning in Taormina: the cost. While prices can vary widely depending on the specifics of your celebration, including the venue, number of guests, and the level of luxury you're aiming for, a rough estimate will help you start planning.

  • Beyond the Ceremony: Remember, your Taormina wedding is an entire experience. Consider pre-wedding welcome dinners in hidden trattorias, post-wedding boat trips exploring secluded coves, or even cooking classes where you and your guests can learn to make the perfect Sicilian pizza.
